It all started when I volunteered at my local animal shelter. I quickly fell in love with caring for animals. In the years that followed, I worked at a dog boarding facility and as a professional pet sitter for a pet sitting company in Austin, Texas. Soon enough, I began training in the veterinary field, serving as a veterinary technician assistant and shortly after, a veterinary technician at the Austin Humane Society and then Austin Pets Alive!

 

Over the years, I’ve worked with a variety of animals struggling with medical or behavioral issues. I realized that many pets and owners were having a hard time finding proper care for their unique situations. Boarding facilities might turn them away… or stress their pet out! While neighborhood teens might be too ill-equipped to handle their pet’s medical or behavioral needs. Unfortunately, this meant that many pets were returned to the shelter. Or, for those owners that ‘stuck it out’, it meant never taking a vacation.

 

I decided that I was in the unique position to be able to give people their freedom back. I started my own pet sitting business, specializing in those ‘harder to care for’ pets.

 

Today, I vow to help the ‘underdogs’ - the pets who may have been turned away elsewhere or just aren’t meant to be in high-stress environments. At Barks ‘n Bobbers Pet Care, we specialize in creating a calm, fully personalized experience so that your pet is relaxed and happy while you step away.
